Who or what inspired you to do what you are doing now? I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue in 2011 which forced me to retire from elite sport. While I was recovering I made it my mission to learn as much as I could about all aspects of health, exercise and nutrition, and how these could help my recovery and quality of life. I worked as a personal trainer, athletics coach and yoga instructor at the time and this is where I noticed many trainers were focused on a strict and rigid style of training. After creating my own effective training style that helped my Chronic Fatigue recovery, my priority became promoting a balanced and fun way to stay fit and healthy. That’s what led me to sharing my journey on social media and eventually creating a online fitness and yoga program and app.
What advice would you tell your younger self? Its never too late to start a new goal.
What is your favourite part about Active Escapes? Getting to spend a whole week with YOU! I love that Active Escapes brings likeminded people together from all over the world. We train hard but we also get time to have fun and really get to know each other. By the end of the trip we feel like family and so many of us still keep in touch years after!
